Southwell Care Home
At our service at Southwell Court on 1st October we celebrated Harvest Festival. Wendy and
her staff had prepared a lovely display for us which was further augmented by donations of vegetables
from Old Barn Farm in Rolleston. The residents enjoyed singing the traditional harvest hymns and it’s so good to see them remembering the words.
Remembering was again the theme in November. As it happens we were meeting on Guy Fawkes’ Day so we recited the poem “Remember, remember the 5th of November ….” and then went on to
think about all the events we commemorate in that month, with the assurance that even when our memories let us down, God always remembers us with love.
We have two events coming up in December. As our regular service date falls on 3rd December we shall go along as usual but felt it was a bit soon for a carol service. After discussion with the staff and my wonderful support team we have arranged for an additional visit. This means that our CAROL SERVICE for the Care Home will be on
THURSDAY 19th DECEMBER at 2.30 p.m. If anyone else from SBC feels able to join us for this special event you would be very welcome. As usual we meet in the car park for prayer at 2.15 before going
in.
