Hi I am June and I am very pleased to join you as Minister at Southwell Baptist Church.
I was born and brought up in West Bromwich in the West Midlands before moving to Essex aged 21 where I met Adrian, we married in 1995 and have 3 sons, 2 dogs and 1 cat!
I have always been active in the church, leading youth groups, Sunday School, Bible study cell groups, and then as Assistant Minister at Pilgrims Hatch Baptist Church in Brentwood, Essex.
Following my call to full time ministry, I studied theology (BTh) at Spurgeon’s College and was Minister at Gunton Baptist Church in Lowestoft for several years until God called me back to my midland roots.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, I am a very sociable person and can usually be found deep in conversation or laughing and joking with people. I enjoy exploring the countryside with the dogs and have found this to be a wonderful way of getting to know people.
If you would like to show me your favourite dog walk, I would be very pleased to join you.
I moved to Southwell from an Inner City church in London where I had run a teenage Bible Class and a Girls’ Brigade Company. Days were spent teaching in Primary schools and spare time included being a volunteer with a Christian Drug Organisation. In Southwell I added Sunday School, Leader, Foster Parent and Adoptive mum to my list of activities and then became part of the leadership team. Since then I have added House group leader and Grandmother to the list. My heart is to serve and to see lives changed through meeting God. I enjoy spending time with the family, travel, reading, classical music, photography and philately.
I am married to Janet with three adult children, live in Winthorpe and work in the IT Sales industry. I’ve been a member at SBC since 1997 and have been involved in various aspect of leadership throughout most of that time (Elder, Home Group leader, Administrator).
I became a Christian as a youth in the local Pentecostal church where I grew up in Blackpool but since college years in London and subsequent years living there I have felt at home in the Baptist church.
I enjoy films, music (strictly listening), skiing and occasional cycling and table tennis.
I was born and brought up in London and then studied medicine in Leeds where I became a Christian. I married Pete, also a doctor, moved to Lowdham and had two sons, Daniel and Justin. They have now provided us with four lively grand-daughters.
I began my career in anaesthetics but later changed to practice as a single-handed GP in Arnold at The Gideon Medical Centre. I took early retirement in 2003.
I have been worshipping at SBC since 1987 and have served as home group and Alpha leader before joining the present leadership in 2011, firstly on the Interim Steering Group and then as a deacon. I particularly enjoy SBC for its family orientated fellowship and worship.
I enjoy all things creatively domestic, the Arts increasingly, photography and travel with friends and family.
I am a teacher, married to Mark with three adult children. Since moving to the area from London in 1997, I have been a member of SBC and have been actively involved with youth work, discipleship groups and home group leadership. Presently, as well as being on the church leadership team, I am part of the Children’s Ministry Team and lead a weekly house group primarily for mums with young families. I enjoy travelling, trying out crafty things from Pinterest; love the theatre, watching films, reading and having been born in Liverpool, it goes without saying that I am passionate about football especially Liverpool Football Club!
Richard is married to artist Jackie and has been living in a near by village and worshiping at SBC for around 15 years. They have 2 grown children who live in Dubai and Scotland. Richard has a practical leaning so is happier “doing” rather than “reflecting” and in addition to church activities and repairs is a keen gardener and hobbyist. He is also a trustee of 3 charities, has a busy job in industry, and a is a keen sportsman so has the challenge of getting the life balance right.
