The Team

I moved to Southwell from an Inner City church in London where I had run a teenage Bible Class and a Girls’ Brigade Company. Days were spent teaching in Primary schools and spare time included being a volunteer with a Christian Drug Organisation. In Southwell I added Sunday School, Leader, Foster Parent and Adoptive mum to my list of activities and then became part of the leadership team. Since then I have added House group leader and Grandmother to the list. My heart is to serve and to see lives changed through meeting God. I enjoy spending time with the family, travel, reading, classical music, photography and philately.

Married to Trisch for 50 years. We have 2 grown up sons and 4 granddaughters. I'm a retired GP and have been a member at SBC for 30 years . This small friendly church generates a welcoming family atmosphere and aims to serve God by being of service to the local community. We aspire to make God accessible to all, through knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

I moved to Southwell from St Albans, Herts, in August 2016 and SBC soon became my new church as I discovered the great heart it has for Jesus and making Him known.
I’m single and live at a distance from my family, so my church family has been very important to me in the ups and downs of daily life.
I work part-time as a Speech and Language Therapist in the NHS. I enjoy my job and am very privileged to work with children and their families in this part of Nottinghamshire.
Other than work and church life, I enjoy being outdoors, walking, swimming, cooking (simple!) and eating, reading, travelling locally and further afield, and spending time with friends and family.
I have loved being a member of SBC. There’s a real sense of fellowship and care. Activities have a community focus, and there are lots of opportunities to get to know each other, grow in our knowledge and love of God, and serve God together.

l am married to John we have two sons, two lovely grandchildren
and a new addition this Christmas Harry the hamster.
SBC became the place l felt Jesus told me to put my roots down some years ago,
l love to worship our Lord so being together on a Sunday morning is my great joy.
Being asked to be a deacon was a bit scary but trust in the Lord always comes to mind.
I really enjoy working as part of the team,
my greatest desire is to see people come to know this Jesus who changed my life.
